Each globe passes through between five to ten + sets of hands from start to finish. Working in our London studio are talented artists and makers. One single globe will have a designer for the map, a cartographer, multiple wood-workers and metal-workers, an engraver, illustrators, watercolour artists and of course globe-makers all working in parts at different stages.
Globemakers start in the company as apprentices, training for at least a year before working on our smallest sized globes. It then requires further training to work on each additional size and style of globe.
