There are two options when gifting. You can book in with a generic deposit based on any sized globe (using this link) or use this listing to gift an amount. This is best if you want a specific amount that the recipient can use towards a globe or map of any size.
We suggest you consider whether you want to design the globe and surprise the recipient – or allow the recipient to have the unique experience of designing their own globe. It is so rare these days to be able to be part of the process of creating something one-of-a-kind. We will work with the recipient to choose the colouring, base style, base finish, and options of added personalisation.
This is a really fun process for anyone who loves to travel or has a unique family history. They can add travel routes, highlight important cities, and have us illustrate their favourite places in the world. Also perfect for history buffs who might want a globe themed on their interest and passions like famous explorers (The Silk Route can be plotted, Drake’s circumnavigation, Magellan, Zheng He, Captain Cook Vasco da Gama, Lewis and Clark, Leif Erikson, Roald Amundsen and his Northwest Passage journey, Columbus or anyone else …) –
Since it is a gift you might want to surprise them with what is engraved in the base – or let them choose their own engraving.
Your gift card will include a hand painted strip of the map (a globe gore), a tangible representation and hint as to what is to come.
If your globe colour choice has not yet made or you are letting the recipient choose, we will select one of our most popular colours.
We are happy to hand write a short message on your behalf.
If you would like us to do so, please keep to around 50 words and write your message exactly as you would like it to appear.
For longer messages we can offer a printed note.
If the card is coming to your hands first we can also include a blank page for you to write your message.
Please confirm if you a/ do not need a message added, b/ want us to write a short message, c/ want us to include a blank page for you to write on.
The card otherwise has a little intro to the company and what the strip of the map represents and you can add your own message to the card.
After you give the gift. You can get in touch when you are then ready to start the process – or give us the recipients email to start the process at a set date.
You can also choose to change the choice in sizing of the globe after booking, any questions just let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate.

With each globe made bespoke to order we can personalise in endless ways. This can be bespoke cartography, travel routes or hand drawn and hand painted illustrations.

The decisions on personalisation are usually made after you book in as we have a mocking up and approval process.
