How to buy a globe

Please start the process by simply placing an order directly through our website. This is a generic 50% deposit based on your chosen size – and the balance will reflect your final choice of colour, base, and optional added personalisation. We will be in touch shortly thereafter to confirm your order and let you know the next steps.

You are welcome to call or studio or email Jade at jade@bellerbyglobemakers.com to discuss the options and any questions you might have ahead of an order as well. If you prefer to make payment over the phone or be invoiced via email that is of course fine as well.

What’s included in the price

Your one-of-a-kind globe and base, fully bespoke, each one handcrafted.

No VAT, unless you live in the UK, so thats 20% off the price, which usually more than covers the shipping cost.

Local taxes may be applied by your local customs.

Safe packaging and insurance, and help with the shipping process. All large globes are tracked with apple trackers, so we can be extra sure of its safe arrival and track its journey.

You may visit the studio to start the process of commissioning your bespoke globe. Please get in touch to discuss a day and time.

Personalising your globe

With each globe made bespoke to order we can personalise in endless ways. This can be bespoke cartography, travel routes or hand drawn and hand painted illustrations. This is a process we will guide you through and explain in detail. Some styles of bases also include an engraving which is the perfect place for names, dates, or short sentiments.

A classic and traditional base for a floor standing globe. Handcrafted and hand-turned in your choice of wood – Oak or Walnut.

Sizing options are 50cm, 65cm or 80cm diameter. We can also do a different variation in 127cm diameter – see our Churchill listing.

Every globe is made bespoke to order and one of a kind.

Globes featured in the main listing are both 50cm and 80cm diameter – you may also see examples of personalisation which are unique to the globes pictured.

Colours featured include Cobalt Cassini, Mint Gagarin, Regency Blue, Glacial Blue, Glacial Cassini, Mint Cassini, Mint Green, Gagarin, Charcoal and Parchment Cassini.

After you choose the size (diameter of the globe), we will work with you to confirm your choice in colouring, wood type and finish as well as through the options of personalisation.

The globe can have a gloss or matte finish – and the globe spins in a hand-cast and hand-engraved brass meridian. The globe can be moved to spin from any angle.

At this same price point you can also choose the Straight Leg or Fluted Leg. You are welcome to book in just knowing the size you’d like and finalise the colour, base wood and style and personalisation later.

The commission includes a personalised engraving and 20 cartography edits, we will be in touch with more details after you place your order to discuss.

The globe sits within a solid hand engraved meridian. The meridian can be moved so the globe spins at any angle including upside down.

Shipping will be applied to your final invoice. We ship worldwide, directly from our London studio in special built crates ensuring safe arrival.
